I can add other drivers to my rental contract

How does CARFAST's fuel policy work?

What should I do if I have an accident with the rental car?
If an accident occurs, your safety and that of the occupants is the priority. First of all, make sure everyone is okay. In the event of an accident, you must call the local authorities to record the incident. Then inform CARFAST via our Call Center so that we can provide assistance and guide you through the next steps. You should also fill in an accident report and, if possible, obtain information from other drivers involved and witnesses.
Can CARFAST provide assistance in the event of an accident or breakdown?

In the event of an accident or breakdown, call our Call Center and our team will arrange for assistance to be sent as soon as possible. Depending on the location and situation, we may be able to arrange a replacement vehicle.
What happens if I receive a fine during the rental?
Traffic fines are the responsibility of the driver. If you receive a fine during the rental period, you must pay it directly to the corresponding authority. If the fine is sent directly to CARFAST after the rental, we will comply with the legal obligations to identify it and you will be charged an administrative fee for processing the payment.
Can I cross borders with the rental car?
Yes, depending on the contract, you can cross the border into Spain with the vehicle. However, you must inform us beforehand and check the applicable conditions and fees.
What should I do if I lose my rental car keys?
If you lose your keys, contact our Call Center immediately and ask for assistance.
Can I return the car outside of opening hours?
Yes, you can request the return of the vehicle outside of opening hours with the appropriate advance notice and for an additional fee. Please ask the agency where you are returning the vehicle for specific instructions and procedures for these returns.
Are all CARFAST vehicles equipped with the Via Verde device?
Yes, all our vehicles are equipped with the Via Verde device, allowing you to pass through tolls without having to stop to pay. The service offers convenience and agility for your journeys and is subject to additional fees.
How does paying tolls with Via Verde work?
When you use the Via Verde device, all the tolls you pass will be registered automatically. A few days after the end of your rental contract, the Via Verde tickets used during the term of your rental contract will be charged to your credit card.
Is Via Verde included in the rental price?
No, the use of Via Verde is charged separately. The amount depends on the number of times you use the service during the rental. A usage fee will be charged in addition to the tolls, which will be added to the total cost of the rental.
Can I choose not to use the Via Verde service?
No, the Via Verde service is compulsory in all CARFAST vehicles and the device will be active during the rental period. All toll crossings will be recorded automatically and charged in accordance with the rental conditions.
What happens if I pass a tollbooth without wanting to use the Via Verde device?

Can I use my own Via Verde device in the rental car?
No, it is not permitted to use your own Via Verde device. All CARFAST vehicles are equipped with their own device linked to the vehicle’s license plate to ensure traceability and the correct collection of tolls during the rental period.
What is the security deposit required to use the Via Verde?
When you use the Via Verde device, a deposit is blocked on your credit card at the start of the rental. 10 days after the contract is closed, the amount corresponding to the amount used on the tolls is debited, and the remaining amount of the deposit is unblocked.
Why is it important to add an additional driver and what are the consequences of not hiring one?
It is essential to register all the drivers of the vehicle on the rental contract to guarantee the insurance cover and protections contracted. Only the drivers listed on the contract are authorized to drive the vehicle. If an unregistered driver is involved in an accident, the insurance cover is void, and the customer is liable for all damage costs and related expenses.
